Terms of Service
These terms apply to the Roadready mobile app (the “app”) and this website, published by TODO: Your name or company name (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1. What Roadready is
Roadready is an independent study aid to help you prepare for the UK driving theory and practical tests. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the DVLA or any government body. Booking and sitting your tests happens only through official channels, such as GOV.UK.
We work hard to keep the content accurate and up to date, but rules and the Highway Code change. The official Highway Code and DVSA publications always take priority. Using the app does not guarantee that you’ll pass any test, and nothing in it replaces proper instruction from a qualified driving instructor.
2. Your licence to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial study. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer or redistribute the app or its content, or use it to build a competing product, except where the law allows this regardless of these terms.
3. Accounts
You can use the app without an account. If you create one, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account.
4. Free version, Premium and payments
The free version includes a selection of questions and a limited number of mock tests each day, and shows ads. Premium unlocks the full question bank, unlimited mock tests, the detailed readiness breakdown and removes ads. We may change which features are free or Premium over time, but we won’t take away features from a Premium purchase you have already made while it is active.
- Monthly (£4.99 per month in the UK): an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. It renews automatically at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Until You Pass (£24.99 one-off in the UK): a single payment that unlocks Premium with no expiry date and no renewals, for as long as we make the app available.
- Watch an ad: in the free version you can watch an optional rewarded ad to unlock Premium features for a short time (currently 10 minutes).
- Invite friends: when a friend enters your invite code in the app, you both get 3 days of Premium. Both of you need an account. Codes can only be used by accounts created in the last 7 days, each person can use one code, and you can earn up to 10 rewards. Rewards have no cash value and can’t be exchanged or transferred. We may change or end the programme, and may withhold or remove rewards gained through fake accounts or other abuse.
Prices may differ outside the UK and are shown in the app before you buy. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their terms. Refunds are handled by them: request one through Apple or Google Play. Your purchase is linked to your App Store or Google Play account; use Restore Purchases in the app, or sign in, to use Premium on another device. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the app: for example, don’t try to get Premium without paying, interfere with the app or its services, access other users’ data, or scrape or bulk-download content. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
6. Content and intellectual property
The app, its design and our original content belong to us or our licensors. Some content is based on material published by the DVSA and the Highway Code, which is Crown copyright and used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Full attributions are in the app under Settings → Licenses & Attributions.
7. Ads and third-party services
The free version shows ads provided by Google. We’re not responsible for the content of ads or for third-party websites they link to. Sign-in, payments and other features rely on services from Apple, Google, Firebase and RevenueCat, which have their own terms.
8. Changes and availability
We may update, change or stop offering the app or any feature. We’ll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes. If we permanently stop offering the app, we can’t guarantee continued access to Premium, but this doesn’t affect your statutory rights.
9. Our liability to you
The app is provided as a study aid. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for test outcomes, or for losses caused by relying on the app instead of official guidance. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can’t be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If digital content we supply is faulty, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.
10. Ending these terms
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting your account (if you have one) and uninstalling it. We may end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as liability) survive.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Additional terms for Apple devices
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence is limited to using the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for providing maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
